Frequently Asked Questions

What is Spinal Flow?

Spinal Flow® is a gentle, hands-on technique that supports your nervous system by helping your body release stored stress and tension. Many people notice they feel calmer, more grounded, and more connected over time.

For a deeper explanation of how it works (including the 7 Gateways of the Spine), visit the Spinal Flow page on this website.

Does Spinal Flow Work?

I have witnessed incredible changes in the human body.

When we improve the structure and function of the spine - healing is possible, symptoms dissipate and people’s lives change.

Who Can Receive Spinal Flow?

Clients of all ages and those experiencing a range of dis-ease and symptoms. The technique is so gentle and also effective - anyone and everyone can experience Spinal Flow's benefits.

There are no contraindications for the Spinal Flow Technique. We do not know anyone who lives in a completely stress-free environment, we are all experiencing stress levels just in our everyday lives.

Our bodies naturally put most stress “to the back of the mind,” where it is stored in our spinal cord as layers to deal with later. Regular spinal flow sessions help us to grow and maintain a level of health and healing.

Is Spinal Flow safe during pregnancy?

Yes — Spinal Flow is a gentle, hands-on technique that supports the nervous system and helps the body release stored stress. Many pregnant clients love how calming and grounding sessions feel during this season of change.

If you have specific concerns, you’re always welcome to reach out first so we can make sure you feel supported.

What Does a Healing Session Look Like?

Sessions will be conducted face-down on a massage table. During the session, clients are encouraged to focus on different areas of their spine to develop more awareness. Each session builds on the next.

We discourage going to sleep during a healing session as we want you to participate in your health and healing. Being connected to your body is one way to help achieve this.

What Does Spinal Flow Feel Like?

Spinal Flow healing sessions are very safe and gentle. We use very gentle and precise physical touch on specific points on the cranium and sacrum. These are called “access points” and give the practitioner a direct pathway to the nervous system or what we like to call the “master controller” of the body.

During a spinal flow session, clients feel relaxed and connected to their bodies. Some clients experience twitches, heat running through their body, a change in energy, emotional release like crying or laughter, and sometimes feels like deep meditation or indescribable relaxation.

How Much Do Sessions Cost?

Sessions are priced at $75 per person (after an intake session) and package options are carefully designed to make ongoing care more accessible and affordable. Children under 12 years are at a reduced price.

For those who prefer to spread payments out, optional payment plans may be available through our partnership with Cherry - https://pay.withcherry.com/pathwelle

How does Spinal Flow differ from other modalities like chiropractic or massage?

While chiropractic care often involves spinal adjustments and massage therapy focuses on muscle manipulation, the Spinal Flow Technique uses gentle touch on specific spinal access points to facilitate the body's innate healing response. It does not involve forceful manipulations or adjustments.

How Often Will I Require Sessions?

Every person will have different requirements because every person is different! Some people have immediate results, but others find that their recovery takes time.

Someone with long-standing acute issues may tend to heal more slowly and require more frequent treatments initially.

As clients start to experience change and healing, the frequency of treatments reduces. Most treatments last from 20 to 30 minutes.

Children tend to respond to healing sessions very quickly.

Clients visit weekly, twice a month, monthly, five times weekly, or whenever they feel their bodies need a healing session.

Do you take insurance or HSA?

Spinal Flow is a holistic form of care and is not covered by traditional insurance plans. Some clients choose to explore using HSA funds, which may be eligible depending on their individual plan requirements - In certain cases, this may include a written referral or letter of medical necessity from a primary care provider or licensed health professional.

Superbills can be provided upon request for clients who wish to submit documentation to their plan administrator. Use of HSA cards and reimbursement is determined solely by the client’s HSA provider.

What if I Can't Lie Down?

While lying face down is preferred, the Spinal Flow Technique can be performed in a variety of positions, making it accessible to everyone. If lying face down on the table feels uncomfortable or challenging, we can easily access points while you're on your side, back, or even seated upright in a chair.

Can Children Come to a Session?

I recommend if you are booked for a session, you seek care for your children, as you will benefit more when your focus is not split. The space is also small and may not accommodate a whole family.
