I'm so glad you inquired!
The Spinal Flow® Technique was developed by Dr Carli Axford after 20 years of research, observation and clinical success. It combines her understanding of the spine, nervous system and Life Force Energy into a simple method that harnesses the body’s innate ability to heal itself.
The Spinal Flow® Technique (SFT) combines science, philosophy, and an intuitive, hands-on approach that prompts our spine and nervous system to release stress and promote self-healing.
This self-healing capacity is directed by our brain and spinal cord, which oversee and coordinate essential functions, nourishing every cell, tissue, and organ. Just as our bodies instinctively form a scab to prevent infection and facilitate skin repair, or increase body temperature to combat viral infections, SFT engages the nervous system's role in maintaining our health and resilience.
Spinal Blockages
The stress of life, whether physical, chemical or emotional, can restrict this from naturally occurring by creating spinal blockages. When we are sleep-deprived, not getting adequate nutrition, or living in a constant state of high stress, our body struggles to regenerate itself and this impacts our capacity to heal, grow, and thrive. As these spinal blockages keep our nervous system in a fight/flight mode, our body begins to send physical and emotional symptoms to signal that something is wrong. Our body is not broken. In fact, our body possess an incredible innate intelligence that helps us heal. This is where SFT comes in.
Seven Gateways & Access Points
Our brain and spinal cord are covered by a balloon-like layer, called the dura mater. It is a thick membrane that serves many functions, including maintaining the cerebrospinal fluid and transmitting energy and information between our brain and body. Each of our cells is also covered by a semipermeable membrane which allows the cells to communicate, bind, and transport nutrients and waste. Where the dura mater is close to the skin is where we find access points – a vital way to connect to the seven gateways of our spine to send a message through the body to initiate the healing process.
The touch of SFT generates ease through these access points and increases the Spinal Flow in the body to enable healing to happen. The body recognizes the touch in these areas being areas of ease and the life force energy begins to increase as Spinal Flow traveling up and down the spine. As the flow increases, it begins to clear blockages and layers of stress. When these blockages are cleared, you will be able to connect with the innate intelligence of the body to move into a state of health and well-being.
SFT clients have reported success in dealing with a wide range of symptoms including, but not limited to, brain fog, migraines, sleep disorders, chronic pain (shoulder, back, knee, hip etc.), digestive and reproductive issues, respiratory issues, sciatica, neurological conditions, immune-health related issues, anxiety, depression, and more.
SFT is recognized by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT). You can read more about the Spinal Flow Technique at https://spinalflowtechnique.com/about-spinalflowtechnique/.
